I’ve been reading and doing some research about these topics online. It caught my attention as I think it is a fatal knowledge that everyone should have. Realizing upon all of these issues I have learned so many things and have followed certain steps to achieve my financial freedom. YES. You heard it right. FINANCIAL FREEDOM. It is something that not everyone is aware about. Where to start, how to start, what should be done, when is the right time, who to consult. All the hows, whens, and whats etc. Nevertheless, I believe with the right determination and focus, this could be achieved. I want to reach my Financial Freedom by the age of 29. That would be approximately 3 years from now. Sounds impossible doesn’t it? Well, It may be a little bit intimidating with the monthly expenses going on, baby coming, and so many plans in the future. But I am pretty sure, if there’s a will, there’s definitely a way.

To free yourself from debts and be smarter with your finances, I’ve concluded from reading several blogs own by some renowned personal finance’s that you need to first know what are your goals. Be sure to re-affirmed daily what your goals are. Be specific upon them. Secondly, you need to create a budget. This is a very important step. Once you’ve created your budget, then only you could pursue on managing your finances. Creating budget is not the hard part, sticking to it is the mother of all means. Once you already know how much you are getting monthly, you need to start listings all your standing and variable expenses. Most of the time, there’s nothing much you could do with your standing/fixed payments. Those are the priorities you need to keep up with each month. Here’s a good news, you can actually tackle your budget on your variable expenses! Analyse which areas that you are being “ridiculed” at. Do you need to shop at designer’s boutique monthly? Do you need to dine at fancy restaurants weekly? Do you need to take out coffee every morning at Starbucks? Imagine how much you could save If the answer to all of these questions is NO? Next step is to set up and Emergency Fund/Saving Fund! This is VERY CRUCIAL. Always remember that you need to save even though just RM1 per day! Imagine if it all adds up! You have no Idea what It could help you with in the future! By setting up these “cool” funds, you need to be more disciplined. Do not take any money out of it when you just need some extra cash to add up money to buy something especially when it is not even important. Another way to help you be in the zone with all these financial/budgeting tricks, try using the envelope method. This is a great method whereby you assign envelopes for all the categories such as groceries, gas, entertainment, etc. How much money you’ve put into the envelopes are the money you are going to rely on through out the month!This method will teach you on how to only spend what you have. Always remember, when you have no cash to spend upon something, means you can’t afford it. I still think credit cards are evil! ;)

I will do more readings and research to gain up valuable knowledge upon these topics! It is very exciting and I can read about it all week long!
